Family of AC/DC singer Bon Scott launch official website

Late AC/DC legendary singer Bon Scott would have turned 75 today (9th July). There’s a new website that has been launched by his family bonscottofficial.com

The site features stories from his peers and tributes from other great bands. A statement from the estate read “On the occasion of what would have been his 75th birthday. The Bon Scott Estate are proud to launch the new website and take this important step toward elevating Bon’s legend and tending to his legacy”. The estate consists of Scott’s two brothers and his nephew.

The legendary front man died tragically on 19th February 1980, of acute alcohol poisoning at the young age of 33. Bon Scott has left behind a legacy with great albums such as Highway to Hell, Powerage, T.N.T, Let There Be Rock and more. Only five months after Bon’s death AC/DC released their album Back in Black. That album became their highest selling album, and one of the worlds most highest selling albums of all time.

High Voltage Testimonials

A bunch of rock legends have put down some testimonials of Bon Scott in honour of his 75th birthday. Angus Young stated “Fond memories of our ‘lightning flash in the middle’ Bon, who would be 75 today.”

Frontman of Judas Priest Rob Halford said “Bon’s attitude demeanour and front man swagger gave him the Everyman persona that the world loved him for. His voice look and on stage character drew us all in. There’s an unmatched uniqueness that solidifies Bon’s legendary status in rock ‘n’ roll.”

Singer Steve Perry remembers the time when AC/DC supported Journey saying “There he was, Bon Scott with a bottle of Jack, no shirt, Levis and cowboy boots, singing like a cross between Steve Marriott and a Cat. His voice was so fucking powerful that he changed me for ever. He lived what he was.”
