Finally! Iron Maiden have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The nominees for 2021’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction have been announced.

Iron Maiden are on the list as well as Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush
Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Jay-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti
LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner and Dionne Warwick.

To become eligible for nomination by the Rock and Roll Fall of Fame, there needs to be a time of 25 years after the artists first recording. So any artist that recorded from 1995 or before is eligible.

Chairman of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation John Sykes said ““This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates, ​These Nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them.”

Back in 2016 Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson wasn’t so impressed with the Rock And Roll Of Fame, for excluding Iron Maiden. Dickinson said “I actually think the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is an utter, complete load of bollocks to be honest with you,” he said.

He continued “It’s run by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn’t know rock’n’roll if it hit them in the face. They need to stop taking Prozac and start drinking fucking beer!”

That’s a pretty funny insult. He can sing like a trooper, fly planes and dish out zingers! A man of many talents.

The members of Iron Maiden who will be inducted would be the current line up singer Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers, along with former singer Paul Di’Anno, former drummer Clive Burr, and former guitarist Dennis Stratton.
