Foo Fighters Have a Cigar from Pink Floyd
A new Foo Fighters numbers EP is out again this one has the lovely number of 01999925. In this EP they cover Pink Floyd’s ‘Have a Cigar’ from their ‘Wish You Were Here’ album. The cover is a doobie! A great cover indeed, on par or even better than the original. Dave Grohl did say that The Foo Fighters are a dad rock band on the ‘Good For You’ podcast, Grohl made the sensational claim, owning the fact that his band’s music have a lot to thank classic rock radio for. “First of all, we are all dads, and you’re right, we’re a rock band. Look, I’m 50 years old, I have fucking grey hair,” he continued.
“But you know, the thing is, I have never considered our band cool, and I like that.”
Well you can’t get more dad rock than covering a Pink Floyd song.
01999925 features 5 tracks in total featuring b-sides and live tracks from their ‘Nothing left to lose’ era from 1999. The Foo Fighters have been talking about a new studio album that they’ve been working on and they hope it will be released sometime in 2020.
