RAF makes Heavy metal’s greatest pilot – Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden honorary Group Captain.
Bruce is renowned for his passion of flying, he even pilots Iron Maiden‘s own customised plane called ‘Ed Force One’.
He was recently enrolled as a member of the 601 (County of London) squadron as a reward for his years of association with the RAF.
Bruce was trained as a pilot in the 90s when he decided to take a break from fronting Iron Maiden. Bruce then came back to front Iron Maiden in 1999 and his band mates were happy to have him fly their own ‘Ed Force One’. With his pilot qualification he has flown for British Airways and EasyJet. He has even flown the crew of Liverpool FC over to Italy for their match against Napoli.
Not only is Bruce Dickinson a great singer and pilot but Dickinson is also keen fencer, and was ranked no 7 fencer in the UK.
And if you’re an Aussie that’s a big fan of Iron Maiden you would know they’re going to return to Australia in May 2020 to perform 5 massive arena shows on their Legacy of the Beast World Tour with special guests Killswitch Engage.
The Legacy Of The Beast Tour is being hailed by fans as the most extravagant and visually spectacular live show of the band’s touring to date and with a decade-spanning set-list of fan favourites, this will be the must-see show of the year.
