Nirvana and MTV Unplugged

Nirvana’s first album ‘Bleach’ was released in 1989, that same year MTV Unplugged first aired on television. The band would have never thought back then that 4 years later they would perform on the show.

Their live performance was later released as an album after the death of singer Kurt Cobain. The album peaked at no.1 on the Australia ARIA charts. They played a great version of ‘About a Girl’ from their debut album bleach.

The cardigan that Kurt wore on MTV unplugged was recently sold in an auction for $490,000! that’s a lot of money for a cardi, you can get a lot cheaper one at Cotton:On.
