Ozzy Osbourne and his love of The BeatlesRodney
The Beatles are one of the most influential bands of all time. They changed the course of music history and continue to inspire musicians to this day. One such musician is Ozzy Osbourne, who cited the Beatles as a major influence on his own career. In a number of interviews, Osbourne has his thoughts on the band and their impact on his music.
In 2016 in an interview with NME, Osbourne said he wanted The Beatles song ‘A Day In The Life’ as his funeral song and how he loved the band. He recalled “I come from the backstreets of Aston in Birmingham, and it wasn’t a very cool place when I was growing up,” the singer began. “I used to sit on my doorstep and think, ‘How the hell am I going to get out of here?’ And then one day ‘She Loves You’ came on the radio”.
He adds “I was Beatles all the way, man. My bedroom wall was, in fact, completely covered, the wall, ceilings, doors… any Beatles pictures were stuck on my wall. I used to have these fantasies of Paul McCartney marrying my sister, all this kind of crazy stuff and how wonderful (It would be)”.

In an interview for the 1995 documentary, History of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Ozzy Osbourne spoke about how he loves the band and how he dreamed of Paul McCarney marrying one of his sisters, and he could be related to the Beatle. Ozzy said “I was Beatles all the way, man. My bedroom wall was, in fact, completely covered; the wall, ceilings, doors… any Beatles pictures were stuck on my wall. I used to have these fantasies of Paul McCartney marrying my sister, all this kind of crazy stuff and how wonderful (it would be).”
Ozzy’s dream hasn’t come true so far, but hey there could still be a chance? Ozzy did meet Paul McCartney in real life and offered a music collaboration, but sadly for Ozzy and for the world I believe, McCartney didn’t take up Ozzy’s offer.
Osbourne told Heat “Meeting Paul McCartney was fucking phenomenal. “I was in the studio at the same time as him and tried to get him to play bass on one of my songs. But he said he couldn’t improve on the bassline that was there. I said, ‘Are you kidding? You could piss on the record, and I’d make it my life’”.
in conclusion, it might not be too late for an Ozzy Osbourne and Paul McCartney collaboration, I for one would love to hear what they could bring together, it’ll be music to my ears.
