AC/DC have cracked 1 billion views on YouTube with their music video 'Thunderstruck'. They're the fifth Aussie artist to do this, they join Sia, Gotye, Tones & I and Iggy Azalea.
The music video was filmed by David Mallet. He's also worked on clips for Iron Maiden, Queen and David Bowie. It was filmed at the Brixton Academy in South London, in August 1990. With hundreds of screamers in the room handed free AC/DC shirts and told to cut loose. Above all it shows the fans are having a great time. When I was a kid when I first saw this I thought it was a real concert. I thought it was cool that everyone was dressed the same. I also thought it was a great area to watch live music because of the cage around the stage. Everyone can see!
Additionally AC/DC tweeted “Our video for ‘Thunderstruck’ just passed a billion views on YouTube, Thank you fans!†It's estimated the AC/DC YouTube channel makes $411.3K - $6.6M a year.

However did you expect out of all AC/DC songs that 'Thunderstruck' would crack 1 billion? One of the worlds highest selling album is Back in Back. It features their two top Billboard 100 hits "Back In Black" and "You Shook Me All Night Long". Besides these songs didn't hit the 1 billion mark. However I doubt it could be from the 2012 Basketball movie called 'Thunderstruck'. Initially about an uncoordinated young fan of Kevin Durant who magically switching talents with him. Maybe it's from the 2004 Australian film 'Thunderstruck'. Where after a near death experience, five Boys, all devoted AC/DC fans, make a pact to bury their best friend next to the grave of Bon Scott. 12 years later, having gone their different ways, they come together to fulfil the promise.
The latter is at least about AC/DC so maybe that's the case? It's great news and congrats to AC/DC for joining the billion views club, I'm sure another song won't be far off.
