AC/DC tops Rolling Stone
AC/DC tops Rolling Stone Australia's list of the 200 Greatest Australian Albums of All Time. It is of course with their best selling album 'Back In Black'. The band appear on the list a total of four times, the other three albums are Highway To Hell at No.29, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap at No.60 and Powerage at No. 136.
It may come as no surprise to some that 'Back in Black' topped the chart but back in the day it gave Brian Johnson a surprise. "I'd just melted me brain in there, and I didn't know if it was good or bad," he said. "That was the first time I'd been in the Bahamas, anyway, or near America, you know, and you (have to) remember, I was just fascinated by the whole culture and all, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing! And (laughs) lucky, really — I was a bit lucky, I think." He told Pulse of The Radio.
In the top ten list the artists and albums were:
10. Kylie Minogue - Fever
9. Savage Garden - Savage Garden
8. The Avalanches - Since I Left You
7. Crowded House - Crowded House
6. Frogstomp - Silverchair
5. Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust
4. Cold Chisel - East
3. John Farnham - Whispering Jack
2. INXS - Kick
1. AC/DC - Back In Black
Prince William head bangs to AC/DC
In other AC/DC news Prince William announced he likes to start the week off listening to AC/DC. He announced this on the Podcast Time to Walk.
“There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you’re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC, ‘Thunderstruck’.
“I have to say the first time I put it on, and I’ve heard it a million times now, I was kind of, like, ‘Well, this is quite heavy for a Monday morning. But now, when I listen to it, it’s the best tonic for a Monday morning. It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone.
“I’d imagine you’re going to walk quite fast listening to it, maybe with a skip in your step, with the headbanging. It’s a difficult song not to dance to or to nod along to.â€
