Fall Out Boy teases new album

American rock band Fall Out Boy teases a new album. The band's last album was in 2018 with their album M A N I A. Fall Out Boy teased the news in an advertisement in the Chicago Tribune with the words "FOB 8" and "If you build it, they will come". Fans theorise this is a hint at their upcoming 8th album.

Guitarist of Fall Out Boy - Joe Trohman spoke to Rolling Stone in September. Speaking about his memoir, he mentioned the music Fall Out Boy were working on “We were working on some stuff that was guitar-based. I don’t know know what’s happening with it. I think it unfortunately went to the back burner. It would be nice to make a record where the guitar is a little more upfront."

He adds “We did start that way, as a guitar-based rock band, and it’d be cool to go back to those roots. We’d have to find a way to do it that doesn’t sound like Fall Out Boy from 2005. It might be cool for somebody else to do that, but it wouldn’t be cool for us to do it.”

In an interview with Kerrang! in 2019 guitarist/vocalist Patrick Stump spoke about the future of FOB's music “I really don’t know what it’s going to take, but I do know that the next record we put out, or whatever we do next, it’s going to be something that we really care about. And it’s something that we’re going to spend a lot of time on.”

It's been a while since their last album, I hope the band can give us a whole new album for 2023, and a tour to follow would be great too.
