It's 2022 and it's hard to believe that there isn't already a Punk Rock Museum but thanks to NOFX's Fat Mike - the world will finally have a Punk Rock Museum. Fat Mike is working on opening the world's first Punk museum, it's going to be located in Las Vegas, Nev. Rightfully entitled "The Punk Rock Museum".
The museum will feature exhibits on the history of punk as well as the music, fashion, and culture that has defined it. According to SPIN, the 12,000 square foot space will open 13th January 2023. The museum has already acquired memorabilia from Rise Against, Devo, Blondie, Sum 41, Fear and more.
Explaining the criteria to be accepted in the museum Fat Mike said “If you’re a punk band, you’re fucking in. It’s that simple.â€

Fat Mike organised a panel of 10 people he penned the "punk rock collective" to help with his idea of the museum. Other punks involved are Pat Smear, Kevin Lyman of Warped Tours, Tony Hawk and Vinnie Fiorello of Less Than Jake. Fiorello said “This is a love letter to punk rock,†he adds “We want to show this common passion amongst so many different people for this form of music.â€
“We want people to come from Indonesia and see the flier of their band on the wall,†Fat Mike added. “You know how proud they would feel? I want anyone in a punk band around the world to have that opportunity.â€
