Rob Halford on Judas Priest votes for Rock Hall
Rob Halford encouraged fans of Judas Priest to keep voting for them in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Currently Judas Priest is just outta the top 5. They're trailing behind Eurythmics, Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar, Eminem and currently at No.1 position is Duran Duran with 425,441votes.
Fans can still vote until 29th April on the Rock Hall website. The artists that make the top five will fall into a 'Fans' Ballot' along with other ballots that will happen on the night. Priest were previously on the ballot for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2020 but they didn't score enough votes. They were also on the ballet for class of 2018 but were left out of the inductee list.
In a video interview with Audacity Check In the Judas Priest frontman spoke of the importance of heavy metal artists in the Hall of Fame, additionally, he urged fans to keep voting for Judas Priest. Halford tells host Remy Maxwell "Like I said on the first nomination, and I'll say it on this one, for us it's all about getting some more metal into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's a great establishment, as far as what it should be and do, which is to represent all of these figures in music. It's always a place that's full of emotion and passion because that's what music generates."

He adds, "So we urge our fans to keep voting, because you have to get Top 5 for whatever reason. We did that the last two times, I think, which gives you a little bit of a cherry on the cake, if that's the right expression. It helps you get through the door a little bit more."
However, Halford said, "Let's have fun with this. There's a lot of stuff going on in the world right now. This is cool; this is fun. Let's get some more metal in there and celebrate the success together."
On news of Judas Priest recording a new album Halford said "Fans know that we're a band that is always full of adventure and trying new stuff," he continues. "And so, yeah, this has got probably some more progressive elements that we've never really delved into before. And that's exciting, because, again, it gives us and our fans another opportunity to see a different side of Judas Priest. But it's still metal. There's just more of it. There are more notes than there were before."
