The Rolling Stones topped annual worldwide tour earnings for 2021. Ranked by Pollstar. The band made an average of $9.6 million per show. That's per show, not for the year. I've been in bands that would be happy to make $96 for a show. The Stones only played 12 concerts in the year but they made a total of $115.5 million. They sold 516,624 tickets for the average price of $223.56. That's a bit pricey I reckon, They've made enough money come on think of the punters! Other artists that charge heaps for tickets are Bruno Mars ($330). Lady Gaga ($295) and The Eagles ($229). Stewth.
The second highest earning tour artist was Harry Styles, earning a tiny amount of $86.7 million for 39 shows. The third highest earning was The Hella Mega tour featuring Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer, then followed by The Eagles.

Pollstar noted “We’re calling it the Great Return, because return we did, in droves. Last year was the Year That Wasn’t, with touring on a global lockdown … and artists and artist development left to less-than-fulfilling drive-in shows, streaming and social media. Fans largely did without the live thing, and we didn’t like it. Though certainly not without its challenges, 2021 was much different and, as Pollstar data reflects, much better.â€
"Every chart in last year’s year-end issue marked a precipitous drop in shows, revenues, ticket sales and all other touring metrics. This year, however, is a markedly different story, especially Q4, which augers exceedingly well for 2022.â€
The Rolling Stones became the first band to gross an average of $10 million per show over the fun of their recent huge gigs. In 2022 The Rolling Stones will be celebrating the band being 60 years old, that's the band being 60 years old not the members of the band. The members are close to eighty years old. They keep the 'Rock n Roll' forever phrase true.
